Something a bit different...Lining your clips

Ok, so I make bows...and flowers...for my 3 year old daughter and myself (More for myself, I love hair accessories!). When I make them, I don't usually have babies in mind, I'd rather make them for a different age group, but hey, they look cute on little girls and babies too!

But I wanted to give a little tip to other people who may be having trouble lining their clips with hot glue. That's all I used and...well I don't know if its normal or if I just can't use a hot glue gun right...But my clips always turned out lumpy and ugly, no matter how fast I stuck the ribbon to the clip. And I always got those annoying strings of hot glue when I was done, and would have to spend a little while cleaning it up when I was done. So annoying.

So ugly!

Look at that...just terrible. I was wanting to make some lined clips just to wear like this or with something small attached, but there was no way I was going to wear them like this. They were so ugly!

Well I looked all around and couldn't find many tips. All I found was people saying to use "tacky glue"....Well I went out and bought Aleene's clear gel tacky glue. Didn't work, it didn't seem to stick very well no matter how long I held it there. Then I thought, maybe the problem was that I got the wrong tacky glue...So I went out and spent more money on the regular Aleene's tacky glue...Ya that worked out about the same. How disappointing...I was ready to give up and just deal with the ugly clips forever...But then...I figured it out!

This!

Fabri-Tac! Its wonderful! You can get it at a craft store like Michael's or Joann, Walmart, or even online here!

Look at that! Looks much nicer!
So that's it! You just line them the same way you're comfortable with, but use the Fabri-Tac instead of the hot glue, I think it holds just as good, and you get a little extra time to straighten it out if you messed up, although it still needs to be done quick, just not as quick as the hot glue.

Well, that's all I got for now, I really hope I helped at least one person here. And I'm sure this isn't some new thing, I just happened to have found it late lol.

Psp Covers

Alright so this is my second pattern I've made and the first one I'm sharing and I'm a little scared I'm going to mess it up lol. One night I was looking for something quick and useful to make to cure my boredom and I decided I wanted to make a cover for my psp. It made me sad to find only one, so I decided to make one up, and it was pretty fun.

These also work well for a DS lite or DSi

Materials
2 skeins Caron Simply Soft in two colors (Black is MC and Pink is CC)
Size G Hook or size to obtain gauge
Tapestry Needle

Gauge
4 hdc = 1 in.
About 3 1/2 rows = 1 in.

Special Stitches
Fpdc: Yo, insert hook from front to back around post of dc, bring up a loop and continue as regular dc.
Bpdc: Yo, insert hook from back to front around post of dc, bring up a loop and continue as regular dc.

With MC ch 27, sl st in first ch to form ring, being careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, *dc in next ch rep from * around, sl st into beg ch 3 to join.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, *fpdc around next dc, bpdc around next dc rep from * around, sl st into beg ch 3 to join.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, *fpdc around next fpdc, bpdc around next bpdc rep from * around, sl st into beg ch 3 to join.
Rnd 4: Switch to CC, ch 1, hdc in same st and around, sl st into first hdc to join.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, hdc in same st and around, sl st into first hdc to join.
Rnd 6: Rep rnd 5.
Rnd 7: Switch to MC, ch 1, hdc in same st and around, sl st into first hdc to join.
Rnd 8: Rep rnd 5
Rnd 9: Rep rnd 5

Rep rnds 4-9 once more, then rep rnds 4-6 once.

Rnd 19: Switch to MC, ch 1, hdc in same st and around, sl st into first hdc to join.
Rnd 20: Rep rnd 5, leaving a long tail for sewing, fasten off.

Finishing
Whip stitch bottom together, weave in all ends. And now your Psp is all stylish!

One last note! If you want the black and green type cover, do rnds 1-3 in CC, then switch to MC for rnds 4-20, or do it all in one color! Whatever you like!

Puffy Flower Tawashi!

I don't know about everyone else, but I love using a tawashi to do dishes! I haven't used (or bought) a sponge in a loooong time. They're so easy to make, and in the long run, you save money. I actually think they work better than a sponge, honestly. And when it gets dirty, you just throw it in the washer...just be sure to make enough that you always have one handy!

You want to use acrylic yarn, the more scratchy and uncomfortable feeling, the better lol. I almost always use Red Heart Super Saver, it works great for scrubbing and its cheap :D (always a plus, right?)

I apologize in advance if I've made a mistake in the pattern, I'm still pretty new at writing my own patterns, but I love it, and I love puff stitches. I'm wanting to make a few different puffy tawashi patterns! So here it is!

Puffy Flower Tawashi

Materials
Size G Hook
Worsted Weight Acrylic Yarn (MC and CC for two colors :P)
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Gauge
Gauge isn't important, however if you find its too small, switch to a larger hook
Special Stitches
Puff stitch: (Yo, insert hook in st, draw up long lp) 3 times, yo and draw through all loops on hook, ch1...I will just call them puffs in the pattern lol

With MC, Ch. 6, sl st in first ch to form loop

Round 1: work 6 puffs in loop, sl st in first puff to join
Round 2: 2 puffs in same st as joining and each puff from previous round around, sl st in first puff st to join, switch to CC now if making two color tawashi
Round 3: ch 1, sc in each puff st AND chain around, sl st in first sc to join
Round 4: do not ch 1, sk first st (the stitch you joined in), *5 dc in next st, skip next st, sl st in next st, rep from * to last 2 st, 5 dc in next st, sk next st, sl st in first dc to join. Fo, weave in ends, and enjoy!

Hello Hello!!

Hello!! I'm just starting out here, and will hopefully have lots of free knitting and crochet patterns in the future...maybe even some bow tutorials. Who knows! So let me tell you a little about what I like to do.

Crochet, knitting, I make bows for myself and my daughter (and put some up on Etsy as well, I'm just starting out there too) I draw a lot, I have a deviantart too lol, even though I rarely go there anymore and will probably end up making a new one because everything on there right now is terrible lol. Honestly, I do a lot of different things, I can't help it, I love creating things! :D
